Why Trackd?

🔒

No bank access required

Works with read-only Gmail access. We never see your bank credentials. Subscription data stays on your device.

Finds what you forgot

Netflix, Spotify, SaaS tools, gym memberships, free trials that converted—if it hit your Gmail, we’ll surface it.

🌍

Works globally

No US-only restriction. Trackd works wherever your email does. Rocket Money is US-only—we’re not.

Catches free trials before they charge

Set it and forget it. Trackd alerts you before a free trial converts to paid—no more “I forgot to cancel.”

🛡️

Your Gmail content never leaves the browser

Gmail content is scanned locally in your browser; only anonymous usage analytics are sent. You can revoke Gmail access at any time from your Google account settings.

How Trackd protects your privacy

We built Trackd for people who want to find forgotten subscriptions—not for people who want to hand over their data. Here's exactly how it works.

📧 What Trackd accesses in your Gmail

  • Billing-related email metadata — sender, subject, date (for receipts, invoices, renewals)
  • Only with your explicit consent via Google's OAuth consent screen
  • Never reads personal emails, contacts, or documents
  • Never sends, deletes, or modifies any email

Scope: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.readonly

🏠 Where your data lives

  • Gmail content is analyzed entirely in your browser — only anonymous usage analytics are sent
  • Detected subscriptions are stored locally using chrome.storage.local
  • No cloud account required. No Gmail content is sent to our servers — only anonymous usage analytics.
  • You can delete all stored data by uninstalling the extension

🔑 You stay in control

  • Grant access once via Google's OAuth screen — you see exactly what's requested
  • Revoke access at any time from myaccount.google.com/permissions
  • No ongoing background sync — Trackd only scans when you ask it to
  • Uninstall the extension and all locally stored data is gone

📜 Our commitments

  • We never sell, share, or transmit your email data
  • We never request bank credentials or Plaid access
  • Full privacy policy on the Chrome Web Store listing
  • Open-source core detection engine under consideration

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to give Trackd access to my Gmail?
Trackd requests the read-only Gmail API scope (gmail.readonly). We can read email metadata for billing-related messages — but we cannot send, delete, or modify any email. The analysis runs entirely in your browser — your Gmail content is scanned locally and never leaves your machine; only anonymous usage analytics are sent. You can revoke access instantly from Google's permissions page.
Is this different from Rocket Money?
Yes — fundamentally. Rocket Money requires full bank account access via Plaid, giving it read access to every transaction in your accounts. Trackd only needs read-only Gmail access to billing emails. We can’t see your bank balance, transactions, or anything outside billing-related emails. And Rocket Money is US-only — Trackd works globally wherever Gmail does.
What happens to my data?
Your Gmail content is scanned locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local. It is never uploaded to our servers — only anonymous usage analytics are sent. When you activate Pro, your Gumroad license key is verified with Gumroad. No cloud account is required.
Does this work outside the US?
Yes. As long as you use Gmail, Trackd works anywhere in the world. Rocket Money is US-only—this is one of the main reasons we built Trackd.
